Match Report
Shrewsbury International School, Riverside Varsity Boys Football vs  Ruamrudee International School
On: Sunday, 04 Oct 2020
Venue: Away

After a slow start to the season, the Varsity boys have begun to find their feet. Their first win of the season came in the opening game of the BISAC tournament against RIS. A relatively tight encounter was sealed with a penalty from Pind and excellent rear guard action from Schaab, Pan Pan and player of the tournament Saxon. The boys have now adjusted well to the preferred 1-2-3-1 formation and maintained good structure in possession, playing patiently by switching the ball from side-to-side, before either CB was able to step into midfield and cause RIS problems by driving at their defence with the ball. At times, we lacked a little cutting edge, perhaps the perfect pass to unlock the RIS defence evading us, however we have begun to look a lot more potent with the ball at our feet. Perhaps, equally pleasing has been the improvements made out of possession. RIS found it hard to break us down, with our defence remaining compact and able to put pressure on the ball around the edge of the box. Our first clean sheet of the season and overall a very good performance.

Goal: Pind (Penalty)
