Match Report
Shrewsbury International School, Riverside Varsity Boys Football vs  Bangkok Patana School
On: Sunday, 04 Oct 2020
Venue: Away

The Shrewsbury boys 2nd game of BISAC was against Patana, to whom we had lost quite heavily only one week previously. In the first half, Shrewsbury were the better team and the boys were disappointed to come in at half time at 0-0, having dominated possession for large parts of the half. Being a bit more brave with the ball, increasing the distances between units we maintained maximum width and depth in possession, making the pitch as big as possible. Patana found it difficult to cover all angles and time after time Shrewsbury players found themselves in advanced positions, with Schaab and Tan testing the Patana keeper from range. The boys had visibly grown in confidence, perhaps surprising themselves at what is possible once we are able to string 4 or 5 passes together, even against one of the top teams in the tournament. During the 2nd half, Patana began to turn on the heat going 1-0 up mid-way through the half. Saxon was called upon at least twice in the latter stages making some excellent saves to keep the scoreline the same at full-time. A much improved performance against a Patana side who had beaten us so convincingly the week before, hopefully proving to the Shrewsbury boys that we are certainly capable of mixing it with the best.
