Match Report
Shrewsbury International School, Riverside Varsity Boys Football vs  International Community School Bangkok
On: Sunday, 04 Oct 2020
Venue: Away

Finishing 2nd in our group meant a 3rd/4th place play off against ICS. Having been incredibly unlucky to lose 1-0 to the same team the week before added extra incentive to put things right. Again the boys controlled the game, dominating possession for large parts without that final bit of quality in the final third. The 2nd half started similarly to the 1st and Shrewsbury took the lead through Surya with a slightly fortuitous finish into the bottom corner. Shrewsbury defended stoically in the final few minutes, putting their bodies in the way to defend a couple of late crosses and shots, holding firm to protect their 1-0 lead and pick up their medals. Pind was excellent during this final game, bustling with energy, holding the ball up well and bringing others into play and Pan Pan also had a brilliant tournament. However, player of the tournament was Saxon who made some excellent saves, commanded his box well and who's distribution with hif feet and hands was excellent throughout. All three of these players are Year 11 pupils, which certainly bodes well for the future. Next up is a friendly fixture vs Harrow to look forward to.

Goal: Surya
